Preparing Your Watch for Repair

Before bringing your watch in for a repair, you will need to disable “Find My” for the device. Check out our instructions on how to do this before coming in for your service.

Troubleshooting Charging Issues with Watch

If you are having trouble charging your Watch please review the suggestions below.

  1. If you are using a third-party charging stand - be sure to use the charging cable that shipped in the box with your Apple Watch.
  1. Make sure that your charging cable is fully inserted into the USB Power Adapter and that the adapter is fully inserted into a power outlet.
  1. Make sure that all plastic wrap is removed from the charger.
  1. Gently clean the back of your Apple Watch and the magnetic charger from dust or dirt.
  1. If your Apple Watch still won’t charge, force a restart by pressing and holding both the side button and Digital Crown for at least 10 seconds.

Updating Your Watch

To ensure that your device has the latest bug fixes and security updates, it is important to keep them up to date!

If you see an alert on your iPhone reading “Your Apple Watch Software is Out of Date” you should update to the latest watchOS to continue syncing data to your iPhone.

To update your watch you will have to ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, is charged at least 50%, is connected to WiFi and is in range of your Apple Watch.

Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and tap the “My Watch” tab. Tap General > Software Update. Download the update from here.

It can take up to an hour for the update to complete. It is best to leave your watch on its charger while the update completes. Don’t quit the Apple Watch app.

If you are having trouble updating, try restarting both your iPhone and Apple Watch and retry the steps above.
